From the Desk of: Owner - Mike Youmans

We have reached a few milestones at ATSites.net that I wanted to take the time to tell you about.

First, March marks our fifth year in business! This has been the most difficult and most rewarding years of my life, personally. Along the way we have learned a few things about what our customers really respond to. Among the most important are communication, site longevity and aesthetics. In response to those keystones, we have geared our initial consultations and mock ups to align ourselves with that consistent desire.

Second, we now have a solid reputation in the Southeastern United States as a very easy company to do business with. We have consulted on several other companies projects lending our expertise where appropriate and even taken over projects from other developers that were either taking too long or getting too big. That is a great place for us to be as a growing company.

If you have any personal experiences regarding dealings you have had with us, whether good or bad, I would love to hear about them. You can email me directly at admin@atsites.net and I will personally return every email myself. No form emails - no copy/paste - a real email from the owner. That's my commitment; that's how we do business at ATSites.net.

Thanks for taking to time to check us out,
Mike Youmans

reCaptcha Blog Spam Protection added to ATSites.net

It sure didn't take long for spammers to find my blog!

Less than one month after my first blog post and I already have hundreds of spam comments posted on my various blog posts. From nude pictures of celebrities to the best price on ED medications and even the ever popular casino offers that are too good to be true! That's one risk of building your own web applications from the ground up - you must consider both the intended functionality and the ever-expansive unintended functionality. If someone can abuse it, they invariably will!

With that said, I added reCaptcha to my blog comment area to prevent such abuse. It will verify that a human is entering the information into the form instead of a computer. All you will need to do is type in the text before you submit.

If you have any problems with the new comment system, you can email us at support@atsites.net and we will address your concern expeditiously.

We hope you appreciate the security.

The ATSites.net Team

New project underway
Submitted by Mike Youmans, Owner of ATSites.net on 11/18/2008 at 11:43:46 am.

We at ATSites are working on a self-funded project that could prove to be quite interesting and certainly very helpful. Let me preface this by saying that we at ATSites have no partnership nor affiliation with any other software provider or development firm.

Submitted by Mike Youmans, Owner of ATSites.net on 04/08/2008 at 12:25:54 pm.

This week I spent some time researching the current state of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and figured I would share what I learned. I read a ton of information so what I will try to do is summarize the key points and let you dig deeper if you feel like it would benefit you to do so.

You know how the mechanic always has the broken down car? Or how the glass repair shop has a cracked storefront window for years? I think thats how it is with me and blogs.
